God Does Give You More Than You Can Handle

For too many years, this was something I shared to encourage others, never once realizing the weight of this mistruth. You see, it isn’t Truth at all! Biblically, this quote bears no weight. The heaviness comes from knowing what I shared was misleading. The real Truth is, God DOES give us more than we can handle! If He didn’t, we would have no real need for Him! Personally, I am thankful for a God so loving that He does, so that I can rely on His strength and not my own- because THAT is not enough! But HE is! One of the beauties of His love is that in Him we find His mercies are new every day! Therefore, I need not allow that weight to stick with me- but the reminder does, of the importance to be in and know the Word of God so as not to be fooled by “Christian” quotes that sound good but are not grounded in Biblical Truth. As Women of Faith, our desire is to lead others to Christ- and we don’t need feel good answers to do that, just Jesus! I beckon you to join me at His feet as we relinquish any and all of our own strength to Him

LORD, we have given you our hearts, now please take our words! The tongue is untamable, yet in the Spirit we can rest with your words of Truth on our lips. We ask this of you, that you would help us to speak Life into the hearts and lives of others by the steady presence of your Word hidden in our hearts! In Jesus’ precious Name, we pray. Amen.
